Joseph Marquez (born December 10, 1991), known by his gamertag Mango (sometimes MaNg0 or Mang0), is a professional competitor in Super Smash Bros. Melee, a crossover fighting game published by Nintendo for the GameCube in 2001. A native of Norwalk, California, Marquez is part of the Cloud9 esports team. He primarily plays as Fox and Falco, although he began his competitive career as a Jigglypuff main. He is widely credited for Jigglypuff's jump in the tier list, from seventh to third. Marquez is considered one of the dominant "Five Gods" of Melee, the others being Juan "Hungrybox" Debiedma, Adam "Armada" Lindgren, Kevin "PPMD" Nanney, and Jason "Mew2King" Zimmerman. Marquez is a two-time Evolution Championship Series (2013 and 2014) champion, and is known for his strong mental game and ability to adapt. He was ranked as the best Melee player in the world in both 2013 and 2014, but dropped to fourth in 2015, behind Armada, Hungrybox, and William "Leffen" Hjelte. Mango's other nicknames include "Scorpion Master" when he is playing as Mario and "The Kid". He also plays Project M in tournaments, using both of his Melee mains.
