Jay Stewart Hennick is the Co-founder, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and largest shareholder of Colliers International Group, Inc. He is also the Founder, Chairman and largest shareholder of FirstService Corporation and the co-founder of the Jay and Barbara Hennick Family Foundation.

Hennick is a native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He founded his first company while a teenager, which was a commercial swimming pool company called Superior Pools. Hennick obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University in 1978 and a Doctorate of Laws from the University of Ottawa in 1981. Additionally, Hennick was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from York University and the University of Ottawa.

In 1989, Hennick founded FirstService Corporation in Toronto with money given to him from family and friends. In 2004, FirstService invested in CMN, Inc., a founding member of the global commercial real estate service provider, Colliers International. FirstService continued to consolidate several real estate service firms around the world.

In June 2015, shareholders of FirstService completed a plan of arrangement and separated into two stand-alone publicly traded companies: Colliers International Group Inc. (NASDAQ: CIGI and TSX: CIG) and FirstService Corporation (NASDAQ: FSV and TSX: FSV). Both companies are controlled by Hennick who holds just under 50% of the votes of each company.

Hennick is the Founding Chairman of the board of directors of Sinai Health System, a merger of Mount Sinai Hospital, Bridgepoint Active Healthcare, the Lunnenfeld Tanenbaum Research Institute and Circle Care and prior to this was the Chairman of Mount Sinai Hospital and the past Chairman of Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation.

Hennick, along with his wife Barbara Hennick, founded the Jay and Barbara Hennick Family Foundation in 2008. In 2016, the Hennick Family Wellness Gallery opened at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. The Wellness Gallery houses the largest collection of the art works of iconic Canadian artist Sorel Etrog.
