James Town is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sweetwater County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 536 at the 2010 census.

James Town is located at 41°33′35″N 109°31′53″W / 41.55972°N 109.53139°W / 41.55972; -109.53139 (41.559859, -109.531421).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.38 square miles (8.8 km²), of which, 3.16 square miles (8.2 km²) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.6 km²) of it (6.6%) is water.
