Seán William McLoughlin (born 7 February 1990), known through his online pseudonym Jacksepticeye (or simply Jack), is an Irish producer, game commentator, and internet personality, known primarily for his comedic Let's Play series on video games and vlogs on YouTube.
As of February 2017, his channel has over 6 billion total video views and 14 million subscribers, making it the 29th most subscribed channel on YouTube. As calculated by SeeZisLab, as of 24 February 2017, the channel has already earned $7.4 million for the whole period of it's existence. The channel also makes roughly $300,000 per month on average, however this sometimes varies.
Before McLoughlin made videos on YouTube, he was the drummer of a band known as Raised to the Ground. McLoughlin has mentioned this a few times in YouTube videos and on Twitter and Facebook.
McLoughlin began his YouTube channel in 2012, under the name "jacksepticeye", in which he posted gameplay videos. In 2013, the YouTuber was mentioned in a PewDiePie video, causing him to gain mass popularity.
McLoughlin co-hosted the South by Southwest event in March 2016.
McLoughlin starts all of his videos by saying, "Top of the mornin' to ya laddies! My name is Jacksepticeye!..." in a loud tone, which is one of the main reasons he calls himself the "most energetic video-game commentator on YouTube".
McLoughlin has a symbol on his channel, named "Septic-Eye-Sam". It is seen on most, if not all, of his merchandise, including plush toys of "Sam". It is the same color as his vibrant green hair, which he dyed in accordance with fellow internet personality, Markiplier, for charity.
