Jérémie Carboni is a French director, screenwriter, actor, producer and was a political communication advisor. He was born on 28 December 1980 in Châtenay-Malabry, France.
He lived in France, Greece, Hungary and also in Italy for 6 years where he attended the Lycée français Chateaubriand (Rome). Then he studied at the Rome University of Fine Arts and at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma before graduating in cinema filmmaking. He also studied Political science.
He began as assistant producer/development of Michelangelo Antonioni, Jacques Rivette, Marguerite Duras's film producers : Stéphane Tchalgadjieff and Danièle Gégauff. Then he directed music videos for Dominique Fidanza and Cynthia Brown (singer) (from television shows Star Academy and Popstars), before shooting in 2009 his first documentary film : Bartleby en coulisses, with famous French writer Daniel Pennac. In 2013, he made a film on a story of electronic music with composers : Jean Michel Jarre, Émilie Simon, Moriarty (band), Teho Teardo, François Bayle, etc. The film has been selected by the prestigious film festival musiquepointdoc and screened in Paris on 19 June 2013 at La Gaîté Lyrique, before TV broadcasting. Thereafter between 2013 and 2015, he is also the President of the Compagnie M.I.A., a theatre company created under the impetus of novelist Daniel Pennac. In 2016, he shot a film on French stylists Marithé François Girbaud, inventors of Stonewash, Wattwash, skin-tight jeans and baggy trousers. He is actually shooting a new film on French novelist Michel Déon (member of the Académie française and of literary movement named Les Hussards in the 50's) starring Emmanuel Carrère, Xavier Darcos, Yves Boisset, Jean d'Ormesson, Eric Neuhoff, Milan Kundera, Nicolas Briançon, etc.
