Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Persian: جمعیت هلال احمر جمهوری اسلامی ایران), or the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) is a relief, rescue, and medical aid organisation in Iran. It was formed in 1922 as the "Red Lion and Sun Society of Iran" and was recognised by the International Committee of the Red Cross and later was admitted at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. its name was changed to the "Red Crescent Society" after the Islamic Revolution.
The IRCS has its headquarters in Tehran. It is among top five relief agencies around the world.
