Hessen, also Hessen am Fallstein, is a village in the Harz district of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 January 2010, it is part of the town Osterwieck.
It is situated in the Harz foothills south of the Großes Bruch lowland, at the northeastern rim of the Großer Fallstein heights. Located about 20 km (12 mi) southeast of Wolfenbüttel on the road to Halberstadt, it borders on Winnigstedt-Mattierzoll, Lower Saxony in the north.
The village was formed in the 14th century in the surroundings of a water manor house named Wasserburg Hessen, which itself dates back to 1129, and later was developed as a castle named Schloss Hessen ().
