Heart 80s is a national digital radio station owned and operated by Global as a sibling of Heart and Heart Extra. The station broadcasts from studios at Leicester Square in London.
Launched on 14 March 2017, the station has its own dedicated live weekday breakfast show. The new 80s station will broadcast nationally on Digital One DAB and online alongside the existing Heart Extra service, and will replace Heart Extra on television platforms.
The new station will be Global's rival offering to Bauer Radio service Absolute 80s, previously broadcast on D1 before migrating to Sound Digital in 2016, and to Midlands-based Free Radio 80s, also now owned by Bauer.
The station is mostly an "automated" service, with live anchored programming from 6-10 a.m. weekdays, 8 a.m.-noon Saturdays and 9 a.m.-noon Sundays.
