The Hallmark Channel is a cable television network that is transmitted to over 100 countries. They specializes in series and movies that are appropriate for the whole family. In all countries except the United States they were owned by NBCUniversal. The Hallmark name is licensed from Hallmark Cards, Inc. They were all re-branded Universal Channel in the early 2010s.
Hallmark Channel is run by separate companies than the U.S. version, but have access to the Hallmark name and branding, along with the crown logo. They also have different programming and standards than Hallmark Channel USA.
The Asian version of Hallmark Channel was launched in 1997. Most of the program are all canned from US including Oprah and The Biggest Loser. Hallmark Channel Asia has four different feeds including the Philippine feed, which launched in middle of 2009.
This channel was replaced by Diva Universal (Asia) on September 19, 2010.
In Australia, the Hallmark Channel was re-branded to Universal Channel on July 1, 2010. The channel's content remained largely the same, where it supplements its United States programming with drama from Australia's largest producer of TV drama, Southern Star Group.
Headquartered in the United Kingdom, this version was available in Romanian, Hungarian, Czech, Bulgarian, and English.
On September 3, 2010 Hallmark Channel Hungary was shut down and Universal Channel started instead. On October 3, 2010 Hallmark Channel Romania was re-branded to DIVA Universal. It broadcasts with Romanian promos and advertising and Romanian and Bulgarian DVB subtitles over the original audio of the films.
Hallmark Channel Scandilux was a television channel broadcasting drama series and movies to the Benelux and Nordic countries. Most series on the channel originate in the United States, but there are also some series from other English-speaking countries. The channel closed July 20, 2011.
