Curtis Township is a civil township of Alcona County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,236 at the 2010 census.

Curtis Township was organized in 1881 and named for its first settler, E.D. Curtis. There were several lumber camps in the township area around Curtisville.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 70.7 square miles (183.2 km2), of which 68.4 square miles (177.1 km2) is land and 2.3 square miles (6.0 km2), or 3.29%, is water. The township is considered to be part of the region of Northern Michigan. South Branch is to the south of the township, and the South Branch ZIP code 48761 also serves a portion of western Curtis Township.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,378 people, 608 households, and 432 families residing in the township. The population density was 20.2 per square mile (7.8/km²). There were 1,605 housing units at an average density of 23.5 per square mile (9.1/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 98.62% White, 0.07% Native American, 0.07% Asian, 0.15% from other races, and 1.09% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.65% of the population.

There were 608 households out of which 19.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.5% were married couples living together, 6.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.9% were non-families. 24.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.25 and the average family size was 2.66.
