Gilan-e Gharb (Kurdish:گیەڵان) (Persian: گيلانغرب‎‎; also Romanized as Gīlān-e Gharb; also known as Gīlān) is the capital city of Gilan-e Gharb County, Kermanshah Province, Iran. At the 2016 census, its population of City was about 24,000 and population of Glian-e Gharb County was 60000

Gilan-e Gharb is the second resistant city after Khoram Shahr, which was the first resistant city during the Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988). Gilan-e Gharb People are known for their hospitality especially when Iraqi Kurds fled to their city after Saddam Hussein ordered the execution of Kurds and slaughtered most of them. The city is populated by Kalhor Kurds and are Shia Muslim. It is considered by many to be the literary center of the Southern Kurdish dialect. It has fostered many artists, poets, actors, and intellectuals.

Gilan-e Gharb has the typical continentally-influenced Mediterranean climate of western Iran. However, in recent years they have had dust storms which have subsequently contaminated the weather with dust, resulting in people suffering from expiration diseases and asthma.

There is a few places to visit which have historical background; Sarabe Gilane Gharb, Golin, Historical city in Sarab, Miandar, and also there is a historic hill almost in the center of the city which entering to that territory is forbidden for people, since it is said that there is a big golden horse buried under it, it is a myth for people from very past but the Iranian Government have not excavate it yet.
