Gibbsboro is a borough in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 2,274, reflecting a decline of 161 (-6.6%) from the 2,435 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 52 (+2.2%) from the 2,383 counted in the 1990 Census.
Gibbsboro was incorporated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 8, 1924, from portions of Voorhees Township, based on the results of a referendum held on April 11, 1924. The borough was named for the Gibbs family, early settlers for whom the area's post office was named when it was established in 1883.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough had a total area of 2.222 square miles (5.754 km2), including 2.183 square miles (5.653 km2) of land and 0.039 square miles (0.101 km2) of water (1.76%).
Gibbsboro borders Lindenwold and Voorhees Township.
The 2010 United States Census counted 2,274 people, 786 households, and 625.7 families residing in the borough. The population density was 1,041.9 per square mile (402.3/km2). The borough contained 809 housing units at an average density of 370.7 per square mile (143.1/km2). The racial makeup of the borough was 92.61% (2,106) White, 2.15% (49) Black or African American, 0.00% (0) Native American, 2.33% (53) Asian, 0.00% (0) Pacific Islander, 0.88% (20) from other races, and 2.02% (46) from two or more races. Hispanics or Latinos of any race were 4.09% (93) of the population.
