Fair Grove is a city in Greene County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,393 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area.
A post office called Fair Grove has been in operation since 1856. The community was named for a grove of trees near the original town site.
The Boegel and Hine Flour Mill-Wommack Mill was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
Fair Grove is located at 37°22′52″N 93°9′4″W / 37.38111°N 93.15111°W (37.380992, -93.150996). Fair Grove is located about 14 miles (23 km) north of Springfield, Missouri on Highway 65. MODOT upgraded the four lane Highway 65 south to Springfield, connecting with 4 lanes south to Branson and Buffalo, MO.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.18 square miles (8.24 km2), all of it land.
As of the census of 2010, there were 1,393 people, 529 households, and 389 families residing in the city. The population density was 438.1 inhabitants per square mile (169.2/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 97.4% White, 0.3% African American, 0.3% Native American, 0.5% Asian, 0.6% from other races, and 0.9% from two or more races.
