Olle Gunnar Westling (born 7 January 1945) is a Swedish socionom, former municipal civil servant and the father of Prince Daniel, Duke of Västergötland, the husband of Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden. He is the grandfather of Princess Estelle of Sweden and Prince Oscar, Duke of Skåne, who are the second and third in line of succession to the Swedish throne.
Westling, raised in Acktjära as the fourth of five siblings (one died early), started his career at Löfs Livsmedel in Bollnäs as a store clerk. Later he worked some years at Tuppz bil as lagerbud before coming to Bollnäs järnhandel. At Bollnäs järnhandel, Westling began his career as a salesperson. During the 1960s, Westling advanced to become a salesperson at Bil och Buss i Bollnäs. The sales career was temporarily interrupted when Olle Westling volunteered for service within the United Nations from 1965 to 1966, deployed on the Swedish battalion in Gaza.
After doing volunteered service, Westling began studies at the School of Social Work. During his study he married Ewa Westring, who later worked as a post office employee, with whom he has two children, Anna Westling Söderström (formerly Anna Westling Blom, born Anna Westling) who is also a socionom, and Daniel. After completing his studies, he began his municipal career in social services. Later, Westling become in Sandviken municipality.
