Estadio Benito Villamarín[esˈtaðjo βeˈnito βiʎamaˈɾin] is a football stadium in Seville, Spain. It is the home stadium of Real Betis. Opened in 1929, the stadium has a capacity of 52,500 seats.
Between 1979 and 1982, the capacity of the stadium was increased up to 50,253 for the 1982 FIFA World Cup when it hosted 2 group matches.
In July 2016, the southern stand of the stadium was demolished for expansion. After re-modelization, the total capacity of the stadium will become 60,000 seats. It is expected to complete the reconstruction process in August 2017.
