Enrique Múgica Herzog (San Sebastián, Guipúzcoa, 1932) is a Spanish lawyer and politician.
He was a fighter against Franco's dictatorship, he spent three years in prison. He was one of the founders of the Spanish Socialist Party (PSOE), in Franco's time. He managed the establishment of diplomatic relations between Spain and Israel. A member of the PSOE, former Justice Minister (1988–1991), former congressman (representing Gipuzkoa 1977–2000) and former Ombudsman (2000–2010). He is respected by all parties of national implementation and recognized as one of the great politicians of contemporary Spain.
His father was a Basque violinist who was killed during the Civil War and his mother was French of Polish Jewish origin.
