Dzanani is a town and also the name of a region in the former Venda, now part of Limpopo province in South Africa. Dzanani was named after MuDzanani, which is one of the main surnames in Venda. The language predominantly spoken is TshiVenda, which is one of the 11 official South African languages. It is a warm place that can also get very hot in summer and cold in winter.

Dzanani is 40 km from the town of Thohoyandou, 50 km from Makhado, 420 km from Pretoria and about 690 km from Harare in Zimbabwe. It is 150 km from Polokwane International Airport and about 460 from O. R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. There is a good tarred road leading to Dzanani and other nearby areas.

Dzanani used to be one of the 4 districts in the former Republic of Venda, along with Vuwani, Mutale and Thohoyandou. Dzanani has been the home of VhaVenda kings for centuries. The Dzata ruins is declared a national monument of South Africa. Others places are Lake Fundudzi; Phiphidi Waterfalls; the breathing stone; the Kruger National Park; and most importantly, the Mapungubwe National Park and heritage site.
