Dunkin' Brands Group, Inc. is an American restaurant holdings company which runs two chains of fast-food restaurants: Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins. It is headquartered in Canton, Massachusetts.

In 1973, British food company J. Lyons and Co. purchased Baskin-Robbins from United Brands. J. Lyons and Co. then merged with Allied Breweries, becoming Allied-Lyons in 1978. Allied-Lyons then merged with Pedro Domecq S.A. in 1994, becoming Allied Domecq. In 1989, Allied-Lyons acquired Dunkin' Donuts. In 1990, Dunkin' Donuts acquired Mister Donut. The operations were merged under the Allied Domecq Quick Service Restaurants subsidiary which was renamed Dunkin' Brands, Inc. in 2004.

Dunkin' Brands, Inc. was part of Allied Domecq until 2006, when it was acquired by a group of private equity firms - Bain Capital, Thomas Lee, and The Carlyle Group.

On December 12, 2005, Pernod Ricard, which had just taken control of Allied Domecq, announced plans to sell the Dunkin' Brands group. Dunkin' Brands was later sold to a consortium of private equity firms consisting of Bain Capital, The Carlyle Group and Thomas H. Lee Partners for $2.425 billion in cash. Dunkin' Brands, Inc. was renamed Dunkin' Brands Group, Inc.

In July 2011, Dunkin' Brands completed its initial public offering and became listed on the NASDAQ Global Select Market (NASDAQ-GS large cap) under the symbol “DNKN.”

In August 2012, Dunkin' Brands became completely independent of the private equity firms.
