The (De) Toppers are a Dutch music group formed by René Froger, Gerard Joling, Jeroen van der Boom and Jan Smit.
The group was formed in 2005 by Dutch singers Gordon, René Froger and Gerard Joling. In late 2008, Joling was replaced by Jeroen van der Boom.
The (De) Toppers were announced as the representatives of their country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, Russia with the song "Shine". They competed in the second semi-final but failed to reach the final. Before the Eurovision in 2009, Gerard Joling left The (De) Toppers. However, on 2 December it was announced that Gerard Joling returned to The (De) Toppers.
On February 21st 2017, it was announced that singer Jan Smit would join the formation.
