DeWitt is a village in DeWitt County, Illinois, United States. The population was 184 at the 2010 census. The U.S. Census Bureau and the USGS list the village's name as De Witt, although the name DeWitt (no space) is used locally and by the U.S. Postal Service.

DeWitt was originally called Marion, and under the latter name was platted in 1836. The present name is for DeWitt Clinton, governor of New York, 1817-1823.

DeWitt is located at 40°11′02″N 88°47′10″W / 40.183752°N 88.785980°W / 40.183752; -88.785980. DeWitt is located just off of Rt. 54.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.52 km2), all land.

As of the census of 2000, there were 188 people, 76 households, and 58 families residing in the village. The population density was 740.6 people per square mile (290.3/km²). There were 84 housing units at an average density of 330.9 per square mile (129.7/km²).
