Coolville is a village located in Troy Township, Athens County, Ohio, United States, in the southeast area of the state. The population was 496 at the 2010 census.

Coolville is located at 39°13′20″N 81°47′52″W / 39.22222°N 81.79778°W / 39.22222; -81.79778 (39.222197, -81.797639).

It is located on the right bank (west bank) of the Hocking River, a few miles upstream from its confluence with the Ohio River. US 50/SR 32/SR 7, Appalachian Corridor D, bypasses the town on the north side, just outside the built-up area, and provides highway access to the community. OH-144, located on the far bank of the Hocking River, also provides access.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.85 square miles (2.20 km2), of which 0.83 square miles (2.15 km2) is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 km2) is water.

As of the census of 2010, there were 496 people, 188 households, and 139 families residing in the village. The population density was 597.6 inhabitants per square mile (230.7/km2). There were 218 housing units at an average density of 262.7 per square mile (101.4/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 98.0% White, 0.4% African American, and 1.6% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.2% of the population.
