City Colleges is Irish provider of professional and academic education, based in Dublin. It runs courses in Accounting (ACCA), Business, Childcare, Computing, Professional Law and Psychology, in Templeogue and Dublin City Centre. The college is aimed mainly at graduates and people returning to education. The City Colleges group also includes the secondary school Ashfield College in Templeogue in Dublin. Its courses are run from Dame St., in Dublin city centre and Templeogue, some course such as the FE1 course is available online.
The Law Society of Ireland entrance exams (FE1's) preparatory course, and ACCA professional accountancy courses commence in Autumn 2011. Other courses include for the King's Inns Preparatory Course, a Diploma in Law(ICM), ACCA Certified Accounting Technician course also a number of courses in Childcare, Montessori Education, and Psychology, as well as a number of short courses in Business and Computing accredited by ICM, and CompTIA, courses in Human Resources Management, Sage Payroll, Bookkeeping, Office Administration, Project Management, Event Management, Journalism, Sales, and Computing ECDL and Networking.
The College has a number of new diploma courses starting in Psychology, Criminology & Criminal Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Cognative Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing Digital Marketing, and Family History(Genealogy). Three diploma courses in Psychology are recognised by the Psychology Society of Ireland for Continuing Professional Development credits.
City Colleges run an examination techniques seminar in association with Premier Exam Techniques aimed at students of sitting university and professional law exams.
Prior to the biannual Law Society examination sittings the college runs intensive revision courses.
A diploma in Irish history and family history is delivered by RTÉ broadcaster and historian Myles Dungan, also the diploma in journalism is delivered by the writer, journalist and broadcaster John Waters.
