Chumik Glacier is located in the Siachen region. Located on the west of Saltoro ridge, it is a 4-mile-long offshoot of the Bilafond Glacier. Chumik was demilitarized after a mutual agreement between India and Pakistan in May 1989. The conflict of Chumik Glacier started when the Indian army attacked and captured it. As a result, the Pakistan army launched operations in the region and recaptured it. But, after an agreement, both armies demilitarised their troops from Chumik Glacier.
