The Chinese Taipei Ice Hockey Federation (CTIHF) is the governing body of ice hockey in the Republic of China (Taiwan).

The tournament will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria from 10 to 16 April 2017. At the September 2016 IIHF congress it was decided to change the format so that there would be a single tournament in Bulgaria. Chinese Taipei will make its debut in the world championship at Division III.

The tournament was held in Dunedin, New Zealand from 16–22 January 2017. Turkey defeated China in the Gold medal game to achieve promotion to Division II. Chinese Taipei returned to play for the first time since 2011, losing all but their final game.

The Division III A tournament was played in Taipei City, Taiwan from 21 to 27 March 2017.

The tournament was held in Taipei City, Taiwan from 12 to 17 December 2016. Chinese Taipei made its debut in the women's world championship at Division II Group B Qualification, winning all four games and promoted to Division II Group B for 2018.
