The China Xinhua News Network Corporation (CNC simplified Chinese: 中国新华新闻电视网; traditional Chinese: 中國新華新聞電視網; pinyin: ) is a Chinese state-owned television network owned by the Xinhua News Agency that began broadcasting on January 1, 2010. It was launched along with CNC Chinese and CNC Finance and Business Channel.
The CNC World Channel will initially broadcast programs in Chinese 24 hours a day, with plans to broadcast English language programs from July 2010 and other languages. It broadcasts in the Asia-Pacific region and some European countries, as part of its plans to "transform itself into a multi-media world news agency". The channel is aimed at a foreign audience, but will still be viewable from within mainland China.
The cost of the operation is around 45 billion yuan ($9.24 billion).
