Chernoyarsky District (Russian: Черноя́рский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the eleven in Astrakhan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the north of the oblast. The area of the district is 4,229 square kilometers (1,633 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Chyorny Yar. Population: 20,220 (2010 Census); 21,293 (2002 Census);20,966 (1989 Census). The population of Chyorny Yar accounts for 38.5% of the district's total population.
