Arjun Rampal (born 26 November 1972) is an Indian film actor, producer, screenwriter, model, entrepreneur and a television personality. He made his acting debut in Rajiv Rai's romance Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat (2001), which flopped at the box office but Rampal earned critical acclaim for his performance and won several awards for his work in the movie including a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.
He failed to become a lead actor in Bollywood due to the failure of his films during the early part of his career in romance flicks including Deewaanapan (2001), Dil Hai Tumhaara (2002), Dil Ka Rishta (2003), Vaada (2005) and I See You (2006). He got his breakthrough in the industry with his first commercial success Don (2006). Other commercial successes include Aankhen (2002), Om Shanti Om (2007), Rock On!! (2008), Housefull (2010) and Ra.One (2011). Rampal has enacted lead roles in various genres including the action films Asambhav (2004) and D-Day, thrillers Yakeen (2005) and Roy (2015), socio-political Chakravyuh (2012), crime drama Inkaar (2013) and biopic Daddy (2017), with his films flopping at the box office but he has earned critical acclaim for critics and audiences for his performances and has gained a cult following for his good looks.
