Chaplyginsky District (Russian: Чаплы́гинский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the eighteen in Lipetsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,520 square kilometers (590 sq mi). Its administrative center is the town of Chaplygin. Population: 32,704 (2010 Census); 36,069 (2002 Census);39,832 (1989 Census). The population of Chaplygin accounts for 38.7% of the district's total population.
