Calabaceira is a village in the southern part of the island of Santiago, Cape Verde. Its 2010 population was 366. It is located 2 km north of Cidade Velha and 11 km northwest of the capital Praia.It is situated in a volcanic plateau dominating most of the southernmost part of the island and being the flattest portion of the island, though filled with deep ravines. A kilometer northwest is the village of Salineiro, only a dirt road links it. Also it is located southwest of João Varela and west of São Martinho Grande.

Next of the village in the west is a small ledge where Ribeira Grande de Santiago flows. A few kilometers southeast is the mountain named Monte de Facho elevating 264 meters. Calabaceira are connected with a small road connecting with the Praia-Cidade Velha-Porto Gouveia Route.

Localities includes Maria Parda and Zimbrão, all in the north, the latter is inside the ravine.

The village does not include the Salineiro Reservoir, the boundary is 100 meters east.

Agriculture dominates the area, the groves dominates a part of the area.

Another Calabaceira is about 11 km east and is a neighborhood of Praia, the main name is likely Calabaceira de Ribeira da Trindade to avoid confusion with the settlement.
