Badaun Metro Area is termed as the region of Uttar Pradesh, India, comprising Badaun City and adjoining settlements of Shekhupur, Baheri, Ginaura, Naushera, Islamganj, Chandpur, Khera, Padauna. Salarpur Industrial Estate, Shekhupur Sugar Mill, Moradabad Road Menthol Industrial Belt, Shekhupur Police Firing Range and Government Medical College and Hospital also comes under this.

As per the 2016 estimates, the Budaun Metro Area have a population of around 4.55 lacs in which the largest is the Budaun city followed by Shekhupur. Whereas the urban population is around 3.7 lacs. The area of Budaun Metro Area is 113 km2; that is much larger than that of Budaun city. The literacy rate is 78% that is lower than that of the City. Along with Hindi and Urdu, Braj is also spoken.

Road Transport: There is a UPSRTC Bus Depot in Badaun, and other is under construction at Baheri. One other Bus stand is in city known as "Company Bagh Bus Stand". There are many properly build Bus stops in Budaun Metro Area. Buses for Bareilly, Delhi, Mathura, Agra, Haldwani Jaipur and Aligarh are available every time. Buses for Nainital, Gwalior, Dehradun, Meerut, Farrukhabad, Kanpur and Ajmer are also available.

CNG and LPG autos are available for almost every place inside the metro area. E rickshaws are the new players in the city region. Dagga Maar vehicles are also for travelling.

Railways : Budaun Metro Area have two railway stations.

Budaun Station and Sheikhupur Station that lies on Ramnagar-Agra Railway line. Trains for Bareilly, Ramnagar, Agra, Mumbai, Vadodara, Surat, Mathura, Kota etc. are available.
