The Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC) is a pioneering, premier degree commerce college in western India, situated in the city of Pune, Maharashtra. The College was established in 1943 by the Deccan Education Society with a view to providing enlightened leadership and trained manpower in the field of commerce and business to the country which was on the threshold of independence. Late Shri C. G. Agashe, the Managing Agent of the Brihan Maharashtra Sugar Syndicate Ltd., was instrumental in getting a magnificent donation of Rs 2,00,000/- for the college from the Syndicate. Hence the college was named as the Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce. The college is affiliated with the University of Pune. The college has produced many notable leaders, businessmen and industrialists like Sharad Pawar, Saurabh Gadgil, Cyrus Poonawalla, Sulajja Firodia, Dnyaneshwar Agashe (aforementioned Shri C. G. Agashe's son) and his son, cricketer Ashutosh Agashe.

The college has two sections; The Junior Wing of the college is for students graduating from school and it offers course in commerce stream for them, at the end of which students may appear for the Higher-Secondary State Certificate examination. The Senior Wing offers bachelor's degrees, Master's degrees in commerce, business and computer applications. The college also offers doctoral and autonomous programs. BMCC offers Masters in Business Administration (MBA) course from the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University.
