Beaumont-sur-Sarthe, also known as Beaumont-le-Vicomte, is a commune in the Sarthe department in the region of Pays-de-la-Loire in north-western France.
The residents are known as Belmontais.
Beaumont is situated halfway between Alençon (24 km) and Le Mans (25 km). Fresnay-sur-Sarthe is 12 km (7.5 mi) away, Ballon 13 km (8.1 mi), Sillé-le-Guillaume 21 km (13 mi) and Mamers 25 km (16 mi). Like the name indicates, Beaumont lies on the river Sarthe.
Beaumont-sur-Sarthe is twinned with the town of Burgh le Marsh in Lincolnshire England.
