Azarshahr (Persian: آذرشهر; also Romanized as Āz̄arshahr and Āz̄ar Shahr; also known as Tufarqan (Persian: توفارقان) and Dekhvareqan (Persian: دِهخوارِقان), also Romanized as Dehkhvāreqān) is a city in and the capital of Azarshahr County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 36,475, in 9,854 families.
Azarshahr lies in the south west of the Sahand Mountain.
The historical name of this city is Tufarqan. The predominant language spoken in Azarshahr is Azerbaijani.
