Austin MacDonald (born July 17, 1995) is a Canadian teen actor, best known for his role as Roger in 2008 film Kit Kittredge: An American Girl and as Andy in the Roxy Hunter film series. In 2013, he won the Young Artist Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Feature Film for his role as Brian in Jesus Henry Christ.

Austin MacDonald Family background.

Austin's paternal grandmother Virginia Sbrega was born in 1930 in Italy and came to Canada as a child with her family. The family moved to a town called Capreol located outside of Sudbury Ontario. They worked either on the railway or owned small retail stores. His grandfather Lawrence Bannon MacDonald's family originated from Scotland several generations before. On Austins maternal side his grandmother Beryl Fratton (maiden name Nunn) was born in 1938 in Newcastle England. She was a nurse who came to Toronto Canada in 1963. His Maternal grandfather Adolf Fratton was born in 1936, his family was from Bolzano Italy but before he was born his siaters and parents were annexed by train to Austria by the government. His great grandfather (OPA) Englebert Fratton (adopted name Nicolodi), (birth name Fratton) fought for the Italians and was captured by the Americans and sent to a farm camp in Arizona for 8 years. After the war he worked for the railway in Austria. His grandmother (OMA) Johanna Fratton (maiden name Chiasera) never learned German but as it was a small town outside of Salzburg most still spoke Italian. Austin has dual citizenship and now holds both Canadian and Austrian passports. Austins Grandfather Adolf Fratton's first language was Italian, then German, French and finally English. His grandfather Adolf left home and went to hotel school in Switzerland at age 13 and traveled the world till he came to Canada in 1962. He was GM of several hotels in Toronto, Edmonton & New Brunswick the went to the Island of Grenada and was GM of La Source resort and spa. He also was GM at Muskoka Sands Resort (now Taboo) & Windemere House in Muskoka Ontario. Austin spent much of his first 4 years on the Island of Grenada and then went on to spend summers and holidays at the Muskoka resorts between his acting jobs. He has traveled now to several Islands and has been to Italy, Austria & Switzerland to stay with family. Also several visits to the USA. Austin's father worked in the textile industry as a production manager travelling to Israel, New York & England to oversee production of wallpaper, carpets & fabric. He is currently a Superintendent for Canada Post. His mother Helen Fratton-MacDonald was a social worker and liaison officer for the ministry of corrections working with youth in custody. She was in charge of education, anger management and did family, drug and alcohol counselling. She later went on to travel with Austin as his guardian and helped with Publicity and events. Helen also holds Canadian & Austrian passports. Austin has 1 sister Miranda Jade who is older and also in the entertainment industry. Austin hopes to use his dual citizenship to work in Europe in the future. Austin is attending Sheridan College in Oakville Ontario. He completed a diploma program of Media Fundamentals in 2016 and is now doing his Bachelor of Film and Television. It is a 4-year program.
