Astoria (formerly "Vienna") is an incorporated town in Fulton County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,141 at the 2010 census.
Astoria is located in southwestern Fulton County at 40°13′39″N 90°21′28″W / 40.22750°N 90.35778°W (40.227439, -90.357791).U.S. Route 24 passes through the center of town, leading northeast 18 miles (29 km) to Lewistown, the county seat, and southwest 15 miles (24 km) to Rushville.
According to the 2010 census, Astoria has a total area of 0.59 square miles (1.53 km2), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,193 people, 501 households, and 328 families residing in the town. The population density was 2,020.8 people per square mile (780.7/km²). There were 541 housing units at an average density of 916.4 per square mile (354.0/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.74% White, 0.34% Asian, 0.42% from other races, and 0.50% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.17% of the population.
There were 501 households out of which 30.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.5% were married couples living together, 8.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.5% were non-families. 32.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 20.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.30 and the average family size was 2.89.
