Armenia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden. The Armenian entry was selected through a combination of an internal selection to select the artist and a national final to select the song, organised by the Armenian broadcaster Public Television of Armenia (ARMTV). Dorians represented Armenia with the song "Lonely Planet", which qualified from the second semi-final of the competition and placed 18th in the final, scoring 41 points.

On 22 January 2013, ARMTV announced that they had internally selected Gor Sujyan to represent Armenia. It was later decided that Gor Sujyan would perform at Eurovision with his band Dorians.

The national final to select Armenia's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest took place on 2 March 2013, hosted by Gohar Gasparyan and Avet Barseghyan. A submission period was opened from 22 January until 20 February and 70 applications in total were received from composers from Spain, Belgium, Sweden, France and Armenia. Gor Sujyan performed four songs, supported on stage by his band Dorians, with the names of the composers of the songs being withheld until after the competition. A combination of public and jury votes chose "Lonely Planet", music by Tony Iommi and lyrics by Vardan Zadoyan, as the winning song.

The interval acts during the event were Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012 Armenian representatives Compass Band performing their entry "Sweetie Baby", 2013 Georgian representatives Nodi Tatishvili and Sophie Gelovani performing the Georgian entry "Waterfall" and 2013 Maltese representative Gianluca Bezzina performing the Maltese entry "Tomorrow".
