Annamalai Nagar is a Special grade Panchayat town in Cuddalore district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.
As of 2001[update] India census, Annamalai Nagar had a population of 8974. Males constitute 41% of the population and females 59%. Annamalai Nagar has an average literacy rate of 82%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 41% of the males and 59% of females literate. 8% of the population is under 6 years of age.
The town is named after Annamalai Chettiar, an Indian businessperson, educationist and philanthropist. The Annamalai University, founded by him, is located in Annamalai Nagar.
