She has had an interest in the genre of jazz since childhood. She won numerous singing competitions beginning at age 14 in Indonesia and Shanghai; she released her first album at the age of 15, with Bisikan Hati, produced by Elfa Secioria.

After the sudden popularity of Indonesian music at the time, she returned to work together with Indra Lesmana and Aksan Sjuman on the album Kinanti in 2002. Andien cooperated with Tohpati for the album Gemintang in 2005. She released four albums and was awarded 5 Anugerah Musik Indonesia awards (AMI), 4 Indonesia Video Awards and 1 Anugerah Planet Muzik in Singapore. On Kirana Andien worked with friends Nikita Dompas and Rifka Rachman. This was the first time Andien was directly involved in the production from the thought process, songwriting and mixing. Kirana talked about love in different circumstances and was inspired by the people closest to Andien. Of the album's ten tracks, three are covers, "Bimbi" (The Rollies), "Doubt" (Edwin Saladin), and "Gemilang" (Krakatoa). The others are "Pulang", "Salahku", "Kusadari", "Kirana", "Moving On", "Cerita Kita" and "Cinta".
