Alhambra is a village in Madison County, Illinois, United States. The population was 681 at the 2010 census.

Alhambra is part of the Metro-East region of the St. Louis, MO-IL Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Alhambra was laid out in 1849. The name was inspired by Tales of the Alhambra by Washington Irving.

The first cooperative soybean processing unit in Illinois, the Alhambra Grain & Feed Co., was located in Alhambra, Illinois. It began full production on March 1, 1945.

Alhambra is located at 38°53′19″N 89°43′57″W / 38.88861°N 89.73250°W / 38.88861; -89.73250 (38.888614, -89.732616).

According to the 2010 census, Alhambra has a total area of 0.768 square miles (1.99 km2), of which 0.76 square miles (1.97 km2) (or 98.96%) is land and 0.008 square miles (0.02 km2) (or 1.04%) is water.

As of the census of 2000, there were 630 people, 209 households, and 145 families residing in the village. The population density was 834.4 people per square mile (320.1/km²). There were 216 housing units at an average density of 286.1 per square mile (109.7/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.73% White, and 1.27% from two or more races.

There were 209 households out of which 28.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.3% were married couples living together, 5.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.6% were non-families. 27.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.37 and the average family size was 2.90.
