Aktanyshsky District (Russian: Актанышский райо́н; Tatar: Cyrillic Актаныш районы, Latin Aqtanış rayonı) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the forty-three in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It is located in the east of the republic. The area of the district is 2,037.8 square kilometers (786.8 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Aktanysh. Population: 31,971 (2010 Census); 31,712 (2002 Census);32,750 (1989 Census). The population of Aktanysh accounts for 27.9% of the district's total population.
