Addison Township is a civil township of northeast Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the township population was 6,351.
The Township was named for pioneer settler Addison Chamberlain.

The first white settlement in the Township was in Lakeville in 1830 by Sherman Hopkins. A Lakeville post office was established in November 1836, and Lakeville was platted in 1840.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 37.2 square miles (96 km2), of which 36.2 square miles (94 km2) is land and 0.9 square miles (2.3 km2), or 2.48%, is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 6,439 people, 2,174 households, and 1,752 families residing in the township. The population density was 177.7 per square mile (68.6/km²). There were 2,290 housing units at an average density of 63.2 per square mile (24.4/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 97.10% White, 1.07% African American, 0.33% Native American, 0.23% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.26% from other races, and 0.99% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.94% of the population.
There were 2,174 households out of which 39.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.4% were married couples living together, 6.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.4% were non-families. 14.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.89 and the average family size was 3.21.
