The 1971 Cal State Los Angeles Diablos football team represented California State University, Los Angeles during the 1971 University Division football season.

The Diablos competed in the Pacific Coast Athletic Association. The team was led by Foster Anderson in his first year as head coach. This was the third straight year the Diablos had a new head coach. The team played home games at East L.A. College Stadium in Monterey Park, California. They finished the season with a record of two wins and eight losses (2–8, 0–3 CCAA). The Diablos were held to a touchdown or less in 8 of their 10 games. For the year, they scored 90 points while giving up 269.

No Cal State Los Angeles players were selected in the 1972 NFL Draft.
