The 1948 Cal Poly Mustangs football team represented California Polytechnic State University during the 1948 College Division football season. Cal Poly competed in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).

The team was led by first-year head coach Chuck Pavelko and played home games at Mustang Stadium in San Luis Obispo, California. They finished the season with a record of three wins and five losses (3–5, 1–4 CCAA).

No Cal Poly Mustangs were selected in the 1949 NFL Draft.
