List of television series made into books

Often a television series becomes so successful and popular or attains such a cult status that the franchise produces books either directly based on it (adapted from the episode scripts) or strongly inspired by it (but describing new adventures of the characters).

The following is a list of television series which were used as the basis for novels (see also Category:Novels based on television series).

List of ATSC standards

Below are the published ATSC standards for ATSC digital television service, issued by the Advanced Television Systems Committee.

In 2004, the main ATSC standard was amended to support Enhanced ATSC (A/112); this transmission mode is backwardly compatible with the original 8-Bit Vestigal Sideband modulation scheme, but provides much better error correction.

ATSC-M/H for mobile TV has been approved and added to some stations, though it is known that it uses MPEG-4 instead of MPEG-2 for encoding, and behaves as an MPEG-4-encoded subchannel, inheriting 8VSB from the remainder of the channel.

ATSC 3.0 is a non-backwards-compatible version of ATSC being developed (as of May 18, 2016) that uses OFDM instead of 8VSB and a much newer video codec (instead of ATSC 1 and 2's MPEG-2). At the time of this article's writing, it has several candidate and one finalized standard.

On March 28, 2016, the Bootstrap component of ATSC 3.0 (System Discovery and Signalling) was upgraded from candidate standard to finalized standard.

On May 4, 2016, the Audio Codec component of ATSC 3.0 was elevated to candidate standard, with two finalists remaining: Dolby AC-4 and MPEG-H Audio Alliance format from Fraunhofer IIS, Qualcomm and Technicolor SA. A third entry from DTS named DTS:X (a successor to DTS-HD) was withdrawn before the standard was upgraded to candidate status.

On September 8, 2016, the Physical Layer Download (OFDM) component of ATSC 3.0 was upgraded from candidate standard to finalized standard.

List of Louis Theroux documentaries

This is a list of documentaries by British television presenter Louis Theroux. Theroux also acted as a correspondent for the TV Nation documentary series.

Initial release: 7 October, 2016 (UK)

"Following a long fascination with the religion and with much experience in dealing with eccentric, unpalatable and unexpected human behavior, the beguilingly unassuming Theroux won't take no for an answer when his request to enter the Church's headquarters is turned down. Inspired by the Church's use of filming techniques, and aided by ex-members of the organization, Theroux uses actors to replay some incidents people claim they experienced as members in an attempt to better understand the way it operates. In a bizarre twist, it becomes clear that the Church is also making a film about Louis Theroux. Suffused with a good dose of humor and moments worthy of a Hollywood script, MY SCIENTOLOGY MOVIE is stranger than fiction".

Nick at Nite international versions

Nick at Nite, a network that was originally established as a nighttime cable channel/programming block broadcasting over the channel space of the flagship Nickelodeon channel in the United States, has expanded to include worldwide versions.

Despite the success of Nick at Nite in the United States, most international versions of Nickelodeon do not carry their own Nick at Nite programming block, as those local versions of Nickelodeon outside of the United States either carry children's programming 24 hours a day or run a non-Nick at Nite program block during the nighttime hours. While Nick at Nite's U.S. flagship primarily focuses on reruns of discontinued primetime network sitcoms, some of these international versions have aired reruns of discontinued Nickelodeon series.

Nick at Nite launched on February 13, 2006 on Latin America and Brazil. Since January 2007, the network had aired shows such as ALF, Mork & Mindy, The Addams Family, The Munsters, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Growing Pains, The Facts of Life, Diff'rent Strokes, Get Smart and Perfect Strangers, which have been broadcast on other Latin American broadcast and cable channels. Although the Latin American Nickelodeon was launched in the mid-1990s, it had never carried the Nick at Nite block before; the Latin American version had since shifted away from classic series and now only aired defunct Nickelodeon series, both Nicktoons and live-action comedies such as Zoey 101, Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, True Jackson, VP, Hey Arnold!, Rocko's Modern Life and Rocket Power. The block was abruptly ended on January 1, 2015.

List of sources for anthology series

Many anthology series made for television have been based on literary sources. These sources have gone back as far as Chaucer (The Canterbury Tales) and have included works by classic writers such as Edgar Allan Poe (The Black Cat from Masters of Horror) and Mark Twain (The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn from Climax!).

Each story is an updated version of a story from Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales.

All episodes based on the short stories by Stephen King.

All stories by Ray Bradbury, many based on his short stories.

Mostly from EC Comics stories. See List of Tales from the Crypt episodes.

Early episodes based on Roald Dahl's short stories.
