imageAblaze (film)

Ablaze is a 2001 American film, starring John Bradley, Tom Arnold and Michael Dudikoff. It was directed by Jim Wynorski. The film uses from two other films. The car chase scene at the beginning of the film is edited from the 1993 film Striking Distance. Ablaze also uses several footage from the film City on Fire during the entire movie. The film also contains stock footage from the 1970s TV Show Emergency!

An oil refinery blows up, causing a firestorm that threatens a hospital and everyone inside.

The film got extremely negative reviews. At IMDb Ablaze holds a score 3.2 out of 10. The blog Crane Shot argues that the film is so bad that is good, stating: "Phoenician Entertainment and director Jim Wynorski (CHOPPING MALL) attempt an Irwin Allen-style disaster flick that is just unintentionally hilarious enough to be entertaining. A large cast of familiar faces and the amusement of spotting stock footage from other movies, which Wynorski uses in lieu of filming his own action scenes, provide much of the fun in ABLAZE."

Action film is a film genre in which the protagonist or protagonists end up in a series of challenges that typically include violence, extended fighting, physical feats, and frantic chases. Action films tend to feature a resourceful hero struggling against incredible odds, which include life-threatening situations, a villain, and/or a pursuit which generally concludes in victory for the hero.

Advancements in CGI have made it cheaper and easier to create action sequences and other visual effects that required the efforts of professional stunt crews in the past. However, reactions to action films containing significant amounts of CGI have been mixed as films that use computer animations to create unrealistic, highly unbelievable events are often met with criticism. While action has long been a recurring component in films, the "action film" genre began to develop in the 1970s along with the increase of stunts and special effects.

The genre is closely associated with the thriller and adventure film genres, and it may also contain elements of spy fiction and espionage.

Some historians consider The Great Train Robbery to be the first action film. During the 1920s and 1930s, action-based films were often "swashbuckling" adventure films in which actors, such as Douglas Fairbanks, wielded swords in period pieces or Westerns.

The 1940s and 1950s saw "action" in a new form through war and cowboy movies. Alfred Hitchcock ushered in the spy-adventure genre while also establishing the use of action-oriented "set pieces" like the famous crop-duster scene and the Mount Rushmore finale in North by Northwest. The film, along with a war-adventure called The Guns of Navarone, inspired producers Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman to invest in their own spy-adventure, based on the novels of Ian Fleming.

Critical Assignment is a 2004 pan-African action film directed by Jason Xenopoulos. It involves a journalist, Michael Power, who is going against a politician who is acquiring weapons and diverting water from the people.

Betty Onuh of the Nigerian magazine Newswatch stated "Essentially, it is a story "written and directed by Africans and for Africans."" Eric Frank, Saatchi & Saatchi Africa Network MD, described Critical Assignment as "the largest Pan-African marketing initiative ever undertaken by Guinness Africa and it underscores the transition of both Guinness and its action hero, Michael Power, to Lovemark status."

Guinness Nigeria Plc created and financed the film; the company did not reveal the budget. Bob Mahoney, a British man, served as the film's producer. It was filmed in Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa. South African Jason Xenopoulos directed the film and Nigerian Tunde Babalola wrote the screenplay.

The film had a budget that was unusually large for a sub-Saharan African film. According to Jo Foster of the BBC, "As an action movie Critical Assignment is not terribly original. But as an African action movie it is rather unique."

According to the producers, the goal was entertainment and there were no plans to show realism. Mahoney stated "We made a conscious effort at points in the script to get back out there and show Africa".

According to Guinness Nigeria corporate department director Tunde Savage, the film was made to promote universal access to clean water and not for profit reasons.

Other actors included Nigerians Buki Ajayi and Richard Mofe-Damijo.

According to Foster the film felt "at times,[...]like a promotional film for the African tourist board", without poverty and blight that were common in sub-Saharan Africa. She stated that an audience in Cameroon had a positive reception to the film because it showed Cameroonian landmarks.

Tempo stated that "Overall, it is a good starting point for Guinness in its effort to contribute its quota in building the film industry in Nigeria." The paper stated that "Lovely as the intentions behind the production of this movie might be, it lacks much of its Pan African toga" since the clothing featured in the film was not African and that "From the 3-minutes clip which was shown to select journalists, it is obvious that the movie lacks the African stuff which it intends to promote."

Dino King 3D: Journey to Fire Mountain is a 2017 3D South Korean-Chinese computer-generated actionadventure family film. The film was released on October 14, 2017 in South Korea, had early screenings at the American Film Market in Santa Monica in November 2017, and a proper international release is expected in the middle of 2018. A sequel to The Dino King, the film is written and directed by Han Sang-Ho, and produced by Chang Hoon Lee.

An action-packed family adventure that combines the realism of Walking With Dinosaurs with the heart of Finding Nemo.

Speckles, a ferocious tarbosaurus and his young son junior, mourning the loss of their family in an epic battle, roam the lands in search of food, adventure and peace. Under the watchful eye of his dad, Junior is growing up healthy and strong, but with an overconfidence thanks to his young age.

South Korean studio Dream Search C&C announced on June 5, 2015 that a sequel to The Dino King was in the works, and it was being co-produced with Chinese film studio Hengsheng Group. Like its predecessor, Dino King: Journey to Fire Mountain will be in 3D and while it was expected to simultaneously open across Korean and Chinese theaters in summer of 2016,, was rescheduled to summer of 2017. Han Sang-Ho is returning to the role of director from the first film, and the sequel will have a running time of 92 minutes.

Following being known only by the working title of Speckles 2, the official English title to the sequel was revealed as Dino King 3D: Journey to Fire Mountain on a teaser poster. The film's plot will revolve around Speckles raising his son, who is eventually kidnapped while exploring, forcing Speckles to go on a journey across prehistoric Korea in search of his son.

Michael Favelle, founder and CEO of Odin's Eye Entertainment announced in early October that the film is currently in the final stages of post-production. It was screened early in November at the American Film Market in Santa Monica.

We are incredibly excited to this addition to our now extensive animation slate. We are always on the lookout for universally accessible franchises with strong family values and Dino King fits this brief perfectly.
