Jollibee

imageJollibee Foods Corporation

Jollibee Foods Corporation (also called JFC, and popularly known as Jollibee) is a Filipino multinational chain of fast food restaurants headquartered in Pasig, Philippines. JFC is the owner of the popular fast food brand Jollibee, dubbed as Asia's answer to McDonald's in the fast food burger business.

With the success of its flagship brand, JFC acquired some of its competitors in the fast food business in the Philippines and abroad such as Chowking, Greenwich Pizza, Red Ribbon, Mang Inasal, and Burger King Philippines. As of January 2015, JFC had a total of more than 3,000 stores worldwide, with system-wide retail sales totaling 82.1 billion pesos for the fiscal year 2011.

In 1975, Tony Tan Caktiong and his family opened a Magnolia Ice Cream parlor in Cubao, Quezon City. In 1978, he and his siblings engaged the services of a management consultant, Manuel C. Lumba, who shifted the business focus from ice cream to hot dogs after his studies showed a much larger market waiting to be served. Lumba was Tan's last business and management mentor.

Jollibee experienced rapid growth. It was able to withstand the entry of McDonald's in the Philippines in 1981 by focusing on the specific tastes of the Filipino market, which differed from the American fast food company.

The chain opened successful milestone stores in the following years: its 100th branch in Davao in 1991; its 200th store in Malolos, Bulacan in 1996; its 300th store in Balagtas, Bulacan in 1998; its 400th store in Intramuros, Manila in 2001; its 500th store in Basilan in 2004; its 600th store in Aparri in 2007; its 700th store in Harrison Road, Baguio City in 2010; its 800th store in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon on October 18, 2013; and its 900th store in Palo, Leyte on September 30, 2015.

The company was started by Edgar J. Sia II, a young enterprising architect, who owned his first business at the age of twenty. Sia engaged in the food business at twenty-six years of age, opening the first Mang Inasal branch in December 2003 at the Robinsons Mall Carpark in Iloilo City. In April 2016, JFC (Jollibee Food Corporation) acquired the remaining 30 percent of Mang Inasal's stakes previously belonging to Injap Investment which is owned by Inasal's founder.

The chain serves Filipino cuisine, including grilled chicken, pork and milkfish, served with rice with selected stores offering unlimited number of rice servings free of charge. Non-grilled dishes in the chain's menu include sisig, pansit bihon (Filipino thin noodles), and dinuguan with puto. Yellow Cab Pizza

imageYellow Cab Pizza Company

Yellow Cab Pizza Company is a Filipino chain that retails fast food, primarily pizza. In 2001, Yellow Cab PIzza Company was founded by Eric Puno, Henry Lee, and Albert Tan. Max's Group, Inc. owns the brand. The restaurant also operates 145 branches in Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and China.

The first branch of Yellow Cab Pizza Co. opened along Makati Avenue in April 2001. Because of having "yellow cab" in its name, many thought of the company as a taxi business, but the name is actually a reference to the way it frequently uses the colors black and yellow, a pattern seen on taxicabs. While much of the ingredients to their pizzas come from the Philippines, the cheese is purchased from either Australia or New Zealand. The company's delivery service uses Vespa scooters.

In addition, Yellow Cab operates a sister restaurant called Army Navy Burger Burrito, which specializes in hamburgers and burritos with a military motif. Some branches of Army Navy are designed to resemble a Quonset hut.

In November 2016, Max's Group Inc. (MGI), owner of the Yellow Cab Pizza brand, signed a development agreement deal with the Qatar-based franchise operator Silver Group to open 22 stores in Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman over the coming five years, beginning in January 2017 The agreement is the seventh overseas franchise contract signed by MGI in 2016.

In February 2017, MGI signed a development agreement with the Blue Star Food Corporation in Vietnam to establish at least 12 Yellow Cab stores around the country.

Yellow Cab Pizza Co. sponsors a team that participates in auto racing. Members of the team include actor Ryan Agoncillo and Alex Perez, who has won three racing titles. One of the chain's founders, Eric Puno, is a fanatic of racing.

They endorse contestants in motorcycle racing. Among them is Glenn Aguilar, an 11-time national champion.
