Zokir Almatov

Zokir Almatov (born 10 October 1949 in Zangiata, Tashkent Region, Uzbekistan), sometimes romanized Zakir, was the interior minister of Uzbekistan until 2005 and was said to have been a member of Samarkand Clan, a powerful politician clan in Uzbekistan. Zokir Almatov was a rival to Rustam Inoyatov, the head of national security service of Uzbekistan. He retired due to his poor health.
