It was released on 6 January 2004 as the fourth single from his album Golden Road. The song reached number one with a two-week stay on the Hot Country Songs chart, as well as number 24 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also peaked at number 2 on the Adult Contemporary chart.

The music video was directed by Sam Erickson and premiered in early 2004.
