"Wishing You Were Here" is a song by English singer Alison Moyet, released in 1991 as the second single from her third studio album Hoodoo. It was written by Moyet and Pete Glenister, and produced by Glenister.
Like the previous single, "It Won't Be Long", "Wishing You Were Here" was met with limited commercial success, failing to enter the UK Top 40. It peaked at #72, appearing in the chart for the one week. At the time, Columbia Records had complained that Hoodoo and the single were not commercial enough.
Kirsty MacColl provided backing vocals on the song. A promotional video was filmed for the single.
The single's B-Side is "Back Where I Belong", which was taken from Hoodoo. For the 12" and CD versions of the single, two remixes of the B-Side were included: the "Polite Mix" and the "Soft Mix".
