The Wine Institute of New Zealand Inc, established in 1975, represents the interests of its 529-member wineries in New Zealand.
The Institute collaborates closely with the New Zealand Grape Growers Council, established in 2002, which represents the interests of the country's independent grape growers.
A joint venture body, New Zealand Winegrowers, was established on 1 March 2002 by the Institute and the Council to represent, research and promote the interests of New Zealand grape growers and winemakers.
